A Study of Solar Irradiance on Inclined Surfaces and Design Implications
This paper presents the global solar irradiance measurements of 12 inclined surfaces and an evaluation of two slope irradiance models namely, the Perez point-source model (PEREZSIM)and the Muneer model (MUNEERSIM),two sky-distribution models namely, the Perez all weather model (PEREZSDM) and the Kittler standard sky model (KITTLERSDM) and a numerical model based on measured sky radiances.Statistical results indicated that in general, the numerical approach using the measured sky radiance data shows the best predictions for the 12 inclined surfaces at this location, followed by the PEREZSIM and KITTLERSDM,then the MUNEERSIM and PEREZSDM.
