Outdoor Calorimetric Test Facility for Solar Heat Gain Through Glass Windows

The solar heat gain has a great influence on the energy consumption of buildings.Especially in summer,the solar heat gain through the glass windows takes a big part in the cooling load.One outdoor calorimetric test facility which was used to measure the solar heat gain through glass windows is presented in the paper.The solar heat gain is obtained by measuring the electric heater power and fan power,and by calculating the fan-coil unit heat transfer and the heat transfer through the envelopes.Two days experimental data shows that the solar heat gain through glass windows coincides with the practical situation.In addition,the experimental results have relatively great agreement with the calculated results.
