Study of Periodic Handling Returns Based on Inventory Management for Reverse Logistics

Driven by growing environmental concerns,legislative actions,economic profits and the issue of Chinas sustainable development strategies in the early years of the 21st century,manufacturers are concerned more and more about the inventory control of reverse logistics,an increasing important field of research.A periodic handling returns model is developed for inventory control of reverse logistics,with that returns and demands are obeyed independent Poisson distribution and the repairable products can be sold on discount.A simple method is presented for determining the optimal order policy and the handling period for returns.Applied examples are shown that return intensity,repairable rate have great influence on the total cost and ordering policy.However,the discount has little influence on the ordering policy.The numerical examplesresults also show that the model can not only effectively coordinate retailersactivities,but also help retailers to set down their own ordering policy.
