Review of Automatic Guidance Technologies Applied in Agricultural Vehicles

This paper analyzed the present research application situation of GPS, the machine vision technology and the multi-sensor fusion technology applied in the agricultural vehicles navigation. The GPS is suitable for wide range area navigation, but its reliable is easily influenced by big trees, buildings or hillside. The machine vision navigation technology is suitable for small area navigation, its flexibility is good, but it is sensitive to the illumination, and it is largely depend on the imagery processings speed and the algorithm. Sensor fusion can combine both advantages of GPS and the machine vision, its navigation accuracy is high and its adaptability of specific environment is strong, but its antijamming ability and information processing and so on still exist some problems. At last, the authors made a forecast to the agricultural automatic navigation technologys prospects for development.
