INSTRUCTIONSIran is one of the largest countries (18th largest country in the world) in Southwest Asia.Approximately 60% of its land is classified as desert and semi-desert,and over half of the country is mountainous,with ranges oriented more or less parallel to its international borders.The Alborz Mountains run from west to east across the north of the country,and the Zagros Mountains from northwest to southeast along its western borders.The Alborz Mountains and the Zagros Mountains form a giant supine V which encloses the vast and roughly triangular area constituting Irans central plateau.
