The Purification of Rural Sewage with Twain-Biological Filtration

The Anaerobic-Oxic Biological Twain Filtration (A-O Twain-Biological Filtration) proposed in this paper was adopted to remove organisms,ammoniac nitrogen and other toxic substances from rural sewage.When the filter hydraulic load was 0.40m3/(m2·d),the removal efficiency was 58.1%.for CODcr,55.4% for BOD5 and 72.4% for NH3-N.Processed water met the national first-grade emission standard for biological treatment (GB8978-1996).Organic,ammoniac nitrogen pollutants and other pollutants in rural sewage were effectively removed.The system was hopeful to become a new effective,inexpensive and easily-maintained treatment way to control water body pollution in rural areas.
