Effect of Sub-high Temperature in Daytime from Different Phases on Tomato Production in Greenhouse
A greenhouse experiment was carried out in order to investigate the effect of sub-high temperature in daytime on the growth and yield of tomato (Lycopersic esculentum Mill.).The treatments were, the feasible temperature of 25℃ in daytime considered as the control (CK),35℃ sub-high temperature in daytime treating from the 1st bud of tomato florescence considered as T1,and from 10 days after florescence considered as T2.The results showed that, the phenological phase of plants both in T1 and T2 advanced compared to CK,and the earlier the exposure of plants to sub-high temperature, the shorter the phonological phase.Total fresh weight of fruit in 667m2 was reduced by 65.43% and 42.31% in T1 and T2 respectively, compared to CK.This is due to the reduce number of fruit of per inflorescence and the low weight of per fruit. The fruit cavity ratio increased significantly and the sugar-acid ratio decreased in T1 and T2 respectively, compared to CK.The yield of T2 was higher than that of T1,and the fruit quality of T1 was better compared to T1,Therefore the earlier the tomato plants were exposed to 35℃ sub-high temperature, the more the plant growth and yield will be affected.
