An Optimization Model for Canal Rotational Scheduling
Aiming at the problem of practicality of optimization model for water allocation in irrigation channel system, this paper presents an applicable model for real time optimization for irrigation water allocation scheduling.A weighted supply coefficient series is introduced after the canal rotational groups have been determined. The series consider a range of issues including canal group location, equity, crop water requirement, crop importance, irrigation bearing time and water fee collecting. The value of each coefficient is multiplied together to get an integrate indicator which is calculated in the time step of ten days. This indicator provides dynamic supplying priority information for decision making when scheduling the irrigation canal operation. The weighted coefficients are independent to each other, but their multiplication product brings comprehensive assessment about the conditions at certain time, which is very flexible for application.Furthermore, the indicator can help to dynamically decide canal rotation groups if integrated with canal topology structure. It is considered powerful and easy to use when applying the model to irrigation system.
