Liquid-solid Two-phase Flow through Labyrinth Emitter of Drip Irrigation
The labyrinth emitter has micro-size and complex structure. The irrigation water still includes suspend granules after filtration. It is necessary to study the granule distribution in emitter. The CFD approach is introduced into the liquid-solid two-phase flow simulation in emitter in this paper. An Eulerian model of multiphase approach is used to model the water/sand granule flow.Under working pressure and same inlet volume fraction (concentration),the granule concentration distributions of different granules size are simulated. The flow fields of pressure and velocity are carried out,and the effect of granules size on the granule distribution is analyzed. For the studying emitter, the granule distribution is uniform and closes to the inlet concentration when the granules size is less than 0.01mm.When the granules size is bigger than 0.02mm,its concentration is increased at inlet, store and the corner of labyrinth channel. This phenomenon increases with the granules size increasing.
