Effects of Different Irrigation Schedules on Characteristics of Water Consumption and Yield and Quality of Flue-cured Tobacco
Water resources is shortage in China,so water-saving irrigation becomes the research hotspot of irrigation. In this paper, the effects of different irrigation schedules on characteristics of water consumption, leaf area index and yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco (Nicotiana tobacum L.) were studied by lysimeter experiment in order to provide the scientific basis for determining water-saving irrigation schedules of fluecured tobacco. The results indicated that the characteristics of water consumption of flue-cured tobacco was affected by irrigation schedules, and the changes of leaf area index in different irrigation schedules followed the curve of S,which could be simulated by exponential growth model more efficiently. The chemical components of tobacco leaves were more appropriate, economical characteristics were better, and water use efficiency was higher with the relative soil water content of 60% at root extending stage,80% at vigorous growing stage and 70% at maturing stage as compared with those of other treatments, which suggested that it was the best irrigation schedule for flue-cured tobacco, and the appropriate irrigating amount in each growing stage of flue-cured tobacco were at 560m3/hm2,1,245m3/hm2,1,060m3/hm2,and the irrigation times in each stage was at 2 respectively.
