Effect of Water Recovery and Fertilizer after Stress on Physiological Properties and Grain Yield of Paddy
Pots experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of rewatering and application of nitrogen fertilizer after water stress on physiological properties, grain yield and water requirement of paddy. The results indicated that net photosynthetic rate(Pn),transpiration rate(Tr) and water use efficiency (WUE)of treatment under stress were higher than those of full irrigation treatment (CK).The tendency was maintained long time until the later stage.Application of nitrogen fertilizer after water stress had the same effects as that of water stress.Chlorophyll contents of leaf under mild stress were higher than full irrigation both during and after stress period and lower for the severe stress treatments during stress period and higher in the later stages,Fertilization after rewatering could increase chlorophyll contents and suspend senescence of leaf.Stress in Tillering stage did not decrease accumulation of dry matter and grain yield. However,it decreased water requirement and resulted in higher economic coefficient of paddy.Fertilization after stress could stimulate accumulation of dry matter but decrease grain yield because of the lower HI,compared to full irrigation treatments, suggesting fertilization after stress in the Tillering stage is not recommended for watersaving irrigation on paddy.
