A newly acoustical and vibration control system combining piezoelectric ceramics and electrorheological fluids

The design,preparation and application of high-performance piezoelectric ceramics,e.g.FD3-PZT and FD4 -PZT,then,preparation,performance measurement and applications of composite electrorheological fluids have been studied respectively.A newly acoustical and vibration control system combining the piezoelectric ceramic and the electrorheological fluids (between the both there be connected a high-voltage delay circuit) is example chosen for this study,and their applications have been investigated,gave emphasis to the applications of vibration control and acoustics,etc.pointed.In the new and unique acoustical and vibration control system,whenpiezoelectric ceramic elements are applied to produce a transient time impulsive force,an output high voltage (d-c current) is set to the electrorheological fluid for a very short duration,where it is simultaneously changed from liquid phase to solid and there counteract the impulsive force.Therefore,esp.,the newly acoustical and vibration control system can be resisted destructiveness of shock wave,etc in the vibration control,and protected perniciousness of infraaudible sound,acoustic shock waves,and explosive waves,etc,and be used to make new and highly effective bulletproof vest,bulletproof helmet (safety helmet) etc;in the acoustic applications,such as,anti-seismic structure,reducer,damper,and recoilless weapons (equipment),and varied shock-absorber,etc.These applications can be found in fields of national defenses,electronics,aviation-spaceflight,machinery,traffic,chemical industry,robot and medical equipments,nuclear installations,bridge seats,optic engineering,etc;and,for collision avoidance system of further intelligent automobile,and,the unmanned mobile at high speed;(including into the outer-space) avoidable collision of the surface protection of modern aircraft to fly at high speeds etc;The newly acoustical and vibration control system having the other important application is,where no power source (including no movable high-voltage power source ) to use electrorheological fluids also is available;The present work opens up and suggests further broad applied fields for piezoelectric ceramics and electrorheological fluids,etc.
