Effects of Water Deficit on Bioluminescence in Rice during Grain Filling

The bioluminescence of different varieties of rough rice (hybrid red rice, hybrid white rice,common red rice and common white rice) during grain filling was measured. The paper discussed that the luminescences variation of rice under well-irrigated and water deficit respectively. The result showed that the change of testing plants luminescence appeared one-peak shape which was consistent with the transportation and allocation of carbohydrate, when the rice was under well-irrigated, the peak value of red rices luminescence generally delayed over 3~4 days behind the with rices; the effect of water deficit on luminescence in rice was different, the hybrid rice behaved stronger vigor than the common rice. In terms of the common rice, the drought resistance of the red rice was superior to the white rices.
