Scientific Study on the Conservation and Restoration of Bas-releif in the Inner Gallery of Bayon,Angkor Site in Cambodia
FUNDAMENTAL POLICIESThe basic rule in the conservation and restoration of cultural properties is to always keep repairs to the minimum necessary.With respect to preservation materials,they should be removed as necessary,and only materials that allow restoration of structures to their original state should be utilized.The use of reversible preservation materials should be a basic policy,to avoid compromising the artistic and academic values of cultural properties.Based on these principles for the restoration of cultural properties,we established fundamental policies for the conservation and restoration of bas-reliefs in Bayon Temple as follows.
