The Analysis of the Source of the Water Causes the Blister on the Wall Painting of Cave 351 of Mogao Grottoes
Through determining the content of the soluble salt at the blister area and the non-blister area of cave 351,surveying the distribution of the blister, comparing the location of cave 351 and the adjacent caves, and from the situation of the consolidation and fallen off of the previous plaster,we could conclude that the blister on the western side of south and north wall of cave 351 is caused by the soluble salt of penetrated water from the cliff. The blister and other diseases maybe caused by the highly mineralization water from the Daquan river when previous plaster had been consolidated at edge.We can simulate the similar diseases of wall paintings of cave 351 at lab.
