Effects of Regulated Deficit Irrigation on Water Consumption in Spring Wheat Field in Hexi Oasis Irrigation Region
The soil water consumption in 0~120cm layer in the spring wheat field, the correlations between the yield related variables and the phasic water consumption and soil water contents during different developmental stages under regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) in Hexi oasis irrigation region were analyzed. The results indicated that no significant difference was found between phasic and daily water consumption among different water deficit treatments and under various yield performance levels.Furthermore, the phasic crop water consumption ratio in total water use for spring wheat subjected to various RDI regimes performed similarly, minimized during both sowing to tiller and tiller to jointing and maximized during both jointing to booting and heading to filling. In addition, further timely, proper and strict soil water deficit during booting and heading of wheat could be exerted based on present study, without resulting in yield loss, while further decrease in soil water contents during wheat maturity not only would not result in wheat yield loss, but also would improve its water use efficiency and water supply use efficiency.
