Economic Analysis of GHP and EHP System for University Facilities in Korea
This paper presents the results on evaluating life cycle cost of using gas engine driven heat pump (GHP) and electric heat pump (EHP) which are installed in one of the university facilities in Korea.The energy consumption with initial costs is a very important factor in the economic analysis.The initial cost was considered on the basis of actual costs,and annual energy cost was converted into the cost after measuring the amount of daily electricity and gas consumption.The present value,one of the LCC methods,is used to LCC method that was applied to present value method.There are variables,such as electricity cost escalation rate,natural gas cost escalation rate,interest rate and service lives for LCC analysis when applying to them,respectively 4%,2%,8% and 20 years,results of analysis show that EHP is 8.05% more profitable than GHP.
