Flow Simulation of Air Refrigeration System Using Cold Air Distribution in Train

Cold air distribution is a new technology along with the improvement of the ice storage technology.In the cold air distribution air-conditioning system,the temperature of air is about 4-10℃.The flow mass rate decrease at the same refrigeration capacity.Thus the initial investment of the system can be reduced and the power in the distribution system and air handling progress is decreased.The distribution of temperature and velocity in train is simulated by using the CFD software under the cold air distribution system.The results show that at the earlier stage of the air flow in the cooling space,the low temperature air is mixed with the high temperature air adequately.The speed of the air decreases quickly at the y direction.This is because the air flow rate is small at the cold air distribution condition.The air speed at y=1.75m is nearly equal zero.That means that human can not feel the flow of the air.The results show that it is feasible to use the cold air distribution in air conditioning of train.
