Study on wide stripe mining based on the principles of overlying strata spatial structures and yield coal pillar
Applying the principles of overlying strata spatial structures and the material graduated failure mechanism, the yield coal pillar was designed which gradually transferred the overburden rock loading to large-size unyielding coal mass or surrounding rock nearby.Based on this theory,a new method of designing wide stripe mining parameters was presented which was feasibility and superiority by theoretical analysis. Then an example on the spot with reasonable wide stripe parameters was given. The surface subsidence coefficient and subsidence control results were analyzed by the way of combining the FLAC3D numerical analysis with scene actual observation. Both the theoretical analysis and the scene actual result indicated the rationality of the wide stripe parameters designing method which was based on the principles of overlying strata spatial structures and yield coal pillar. It could control surface subsidence as well as improving the resources recovery rate.
