Controlling effects of lateral support force on top-coal stability in fully mechanized top-coal caving face
Based on the construction of 2-legs shield support in fully mechanized top-coal caving face and its product condition in Xinglongzhuang coal mine, the influence and controlling mechanism of lateral support force to the stability of top-coal in tip-to-face area were analyzed by means of in-situ measurement and UDEC4.0 numerical calculating.By studying the influence of roof falling in tip-to-face area and coal drawing to the stability of support the concept of two dynamic destabilization zones in top-coal were advanced. It also gives the analysis of the influence of the destabilization zones to the relation of support and surrounding rocks, and the control effect of lateral support force to the stability of top-coal in tip-to-face area under different coal hardness conditions. It is found that there is a critical lateral support force for the stability of top-coal in tip-to-face area when the coal hardness is certain. The principle and methods of roof control in fully mechanized top-coal caving face adopting 2-legs shield support are given, which provides the foundation for improving support design and application effect.
