New approaches towards improving mine ventilation network analysis
Based upon a numerical test approach by computer, the relationship between relevant parameters was investigated based on five complicated mine ventilation systems. These parameters are: branch number, node number, mesh number, computation accuracy, arbitrary given value of airflow rate, iteration number, computation time, convergence erc,in mine ventilation network analysis,The results show that a high degree of a given computation accuracy significantly influences the iteration number. In particular, when the nominal accuracy attains 10-6 m3/s in order to solve a complex mine ventilation network, the running time is far too long even though a high-speed computer is used. The size of the given value of airflow rate has little effect on the iteration number, and any value between 1 and 100 m3/s can be set.The structure of a network has also some effect on the iteration number. When the resistance of a branch in a network is increased to a high value such,as by setting a seal in a branch, the results of the whole network analysis are normal even then, and the iteration technique can play the same function.
