STUDY ON RESTORING FORCE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SRHSHPC FRAME COLUMNS

The restoring force characteristics of steel reinforced high strength and high performance concrete (SRHSHPC) frame columns subjected to constant axial load and cyclically variety flexural loading was investigated experimentally. The main influencing parameters, including shear span ratio,axial compression ratio, stirrup ratio and concrete strength, on the restoring force characteristics of the SRHSHPC frame columns, are studied. From the test results, the failure mechanism of the column is analyzed and its hysteresis characteristic curve as well as skeleton curve is obtained. Therefore, a trilinear degeneration model for restoring force of SRHSHPC frame columns is established and its feature points are determined according to the test datas. Following, the comparison analysis between calculation value and test results is carried out. The analytical results show good agreement with the test results. The research may provide a theoretical base for elastic-plastic seismic response analysis of the SRHSHPC frame columns.
