Substitution of Hydrate Guest Materials for Cool Storage

Storage of thermal energy through new-type cool storage medium-gas hydrate formation/dissociation,is a promising technique for balancing the on-peak and off-peak electric-load in air conditioning.Owing to the globe environmental issues-ozone depletion and global climate change,the phase-out of HCFCs is in process recently.Substitutes for guest materials of gas hydrate,mainly for refrigerate hydrates,require sufficient attention.In this paper,the selection from the alkane series,Hydro Fluorocarbons (abbre.HFCs),water-soluble materials and binary mixtures,was presented and summarized,and parts of promising materials were listed.Also the prospect of their selection was discussed,and some suggestions were presented.
