RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF LOAD-BEARING CAPACITY OF CFT-ENCASED STEEL COLUMNS
Based on the Chinese code (GB50068-2001), the expressions for statistic parameters of comprehensive resistance of axially loaded CFT-encased steel column were put forward, and a reliability analysis was completed using Monte Carlo simulation. The influences of load combination,as well as load effect ratio, concrete strength, confinement coefficient and structural steel index on reliability index of the composite column were investigated. It is found that the reliability index varies with the live load combination and load effect ratio significantly, and it increases with the increasing concrete strength and the reducing thickness of steel tube. The analytical results indicate that the influence of structural steel index can almost be ignored, except in individual case.
