THE NONLINEAR TIME-HISTORY ANALYSIS OF HIGH-RISE STEEL FRAME STRUCTURE WITH VISCOELASTIC DAMPERS CONSIDERING P-△ EFFECT
The nonlinear time-history analysis of high-rise steel frame structure with viscoelastic(VE)dampers considering P-△ effect is presented in this paper. The stiffness matrix and the damping matrix of high-rise steel frame structure with VE dampers considering P-△ effect are deduced based on the equivalent stiffness and equivalent damping model of VE damper. A nonlinear dynamic analytical program is compiled with two numerical integration methods and an efficient numerical method of dealing with inflection points. Furthermore, a numerical example is analyzed by the program. The results show that the program is effective to apply to the linear and nonlinear time-history analysis of high-rise steel frame structure with VE dampers. The results also display that the dynamic responses of high-rise steel frame structure with VE dampers in different seismic mitigations are reduced remarkably and the structural seismic security can be improved greatly by the installation of VE dampers.
