REDUCTION OF WIND INDUCED VIBRATION IN SPATIAL STRUCTURES WITH OPTIMAL ARRANGEMENT OF MR DAMPERS

In this paper, ameliorated strategy is put forward to improve the classical Simulated Annealing Algorithm (SA) in finding proper placement and reasonable quantity of MR dampers for reducing wind induced vibration of spatial reticulated structures. The improvements including constructing fitness function, which can meet requirement of finding the proper placement and appropriate quantity simultaneously, are able to advance the searching speed and precision of SA. In addition, the parameter investigation was carried out, which affects the reduction of structural wind-induced vibration. Based on harmony superposition technique, the wind velocity time history on the nodes of spatial reticulated structure was simulated and translated as series of wind loads. Finally,by enumerating the spatial shell structures as examples and analyzing the results of numerical calculation through ameliorated SA method, some conclusions on optimizing the placement and quantity of MR dampers in spatial reticulated structure were reached under wind loads.
