INTERNET REMOTE CONTROLLED EXPERIMENT SYSTEM
Internet remote controlled experiments provide several benefits to students and institutions. It has been shown in the literature that in class demonstrations and remote laboratories increases the quality of teaching and consequently the student performance, while reducing the expenses burden by the institution. This paper shows the development of the University of Houston experiment farm project and the centralized website for users scheduling aimed to improve the engineering education in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering. Student surveys were collected for the past 2 years and results shows an overall 90% of the students finding the online experiments effective teaching tools. Additionally, the students expressed the unanimous desired to extend the selection of remote laboratories.
