PERFORMANCE OF HYBRID PRECAST BEAM-COLUMN CONCRETE CONNECTIONS
This test researches one monolithic connection and 3 hybrid precast unbonded post-tensioned concrete connections under reversed cyclic loading. Such parameters as PT initial post-tensioning force, type and area of grouted mild steel are described. Experiment shows that used grouted mild steel can improve the energy dissipation and bearing capacity of specimens. The hybrid precast specimens have desirable seismic characteristics such as a self-centering capability and an ability to undergo large nonlinear displacements with little damage. This study was initiated to provide data for the development of a rational and economical design and construction procedure for such connections in seismic active regions.
