STUDY OF SHEAR BEARING CAPABILITY TO THE NEW TYPE COMPOSITE WALL WITH STEEL REINFORCEMENT CONCRETE FRAME COLUMN

The new type composite wall with steel reinforcement concrete frame column (SCNCW) is characterized by high bearing capacity and good seismic behavior, and it is the same with moderate-high storied structure. To understand shear behavior of SCNCW, it were design to 1/2 scale the ordinary new type composite wall (NCW) with 1:1 height-width ratio and two 1/3 scale SCNCW with 2:1 and 3:1 height-width ratio, and low frequency cyclic and reversed lateral load tests were carried out. The study results show that the SCNCW have higher shear hearing capacity and better seismic behavior than that of (NCW). According th experiments results, the influencing of shear-span ratio and steel reinforced on shear behavior of wall is mainly discussed; finally, the shear bearing capacity calculating formula is suggested. Comparing experimental results and calculations, it is found that the formula is in good agreement with the experimental results.
