INFLUENCE OF CORRODED RECTANGLE STEEL STIRRUPS ON STRESSSTRAIN CURVES OF CONFINED CONCRETE
Because of the stirrups constraint, the confined concrete has good ductility. But the stirrups are easily to be corroded. The corrosion of stirrups would cause the cross section decreased, the concrete cover cracked and the bond property between stirrups and concrete reduced, which will make the constrain decreased provided by the stirrups and influence the concrete stress-strain curves further. In the paper, influence of corroded rectangle steel stirrups on stress-strain curves of confined concrete are discussed, based on the un-corroded rectangle stirrups confined concrete experimental results and theoretical analysis, and combining domestic and foreign scholars research results on degradation of the mechanical properties of the round corrosion steel bar, damage of concrete cover and the reduction of bond between stirrups and concrete.
