DESIGN AND TESTING OF ULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT HIGH STRENGTH CONCRETE
In this study, ultra-lightweight high strength concrete was designed through selection of proper raw materials and mixture design. Concrete with strengths from 5 to 50 Mpa and densities from 800 to 1400 kg/m3 was designed and tested. The compressive strength to flexural strength ratio increased as the compressive strength of the concrete increased. The concrete demonstrated excellent thermal insulation property and fire resistance. Several full-scale production demonstrations indicated that it could be used for manufacturing different non-load bearing and load bearing precast concrete products such as panels, modular and blocks.
