Combining Surface NMR Measurements and Hydrogeological Parameters to Estimate the Yield Capacity of Water-Saturated Layers

- The surface nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) method used by geophysicists and hydrogeologists is new tools for groundwater investigations. There are many literatures to talk just the good sides about detecting the groundwater used this method, but there are a lot of fact experimentation to estimate the groundwater mistakenly in the north of China, because the water content is large, indicating in the histogram from the automatic inversion of the instruments data, but the yield capacity of groundwater-saturated layers is low after logging. So the rock is bored by mistake. These false indications can occur because the average relaxation time constant which is assumed to permit discrimination between free water and bound water depended on many parameters actually, including porosity, permeability and transmissivity. To obtain a better understanding of how MRS(magnetic resonance sounding) is influenced by these parameters, the relationships between permeability, transmissivity and lithology of clastic rocks are given. The sounding of the area coverage are given to analyze the result, include water content, relaxation time and permeability and the result of logging are given to validate the analysis. The result indicates that the yield capacity of water-saturated layers need combine surface NMR measurements and hydrogeological parameters.
