The applied research of radioactivity methods in landslide investigation

Landslide is one of serious geological calamities that are harmful to the national economic construction and peoples life and property safety.This geological calamity must been investigated before the construction of the city,traffic,water conservancy and mines,etc.Based on the forming mechanism of radioactivity anomaly over the landslide,this paper deduces the anomaly character of radioactivity over the boundary of landslide.The feasibility of surveying landslide with radioactivity survey methods is demonstrated theoretically.Combined with the survey results of soil natural thermoluminescence and 210Po over a known landslide in Chongqing Province,the feasibility and application foreground of radioactivity survey technique in investigating landslide are farther discussed.The results show that the radioactivity survey method is one of relatively simple and convenient,economic and practical landslide surveying technique.
