Application of in-situ wave velocity test on engineering survey of subway in Beijing,China
In-situ wave velocity test is an effective method to obtain shear wave and compressional wave velocities, and to solve problems encountered in engineering application such as computation of geotechnical parameters, classification of rocks and soils, and site zoning, etc.,Wave velocity test in a single drillhole was employed to derive valuable data for the construction of Beijing subway Line 8.Taking the 34-meter-deep drillhole ZK17 as an example, shear wave and compressional wave velocities, and dynamic mechanic parameters identified from wave-velocity test were analyzed in detail, furthermore, soils in the depth range of 34m were classified into two categories as follows, moderate stiff soil and moderate soft soil.Based on this valuable information,Beijing subway Line 8 is now being constructed in a safety situation.
