Monitoring and risk research on the high and steep slope in open-pit mine based on GPS

The application of GPS in slope deformation monitoring is at present the most advanced monitoring means,which has a high precision and is unaffected by climate condition,whats more,can realize unattended,automatic monitoring model.GPS has the function of totipotency (land,ocean,aviation,aerospace),global,all weather,continuous,real-time navigation,location and timing,which can offer the precise three-dimensional coordinate,velocity and time.GPS single-static deformation monitoring is used on the slope around F9 fault of East Open Pit in Daye Iron Mine.The results show that A2 landslide is a rock driving landslide,the movement of which can be divided into three phases,i.e.creep phase,acceleration phase and failure phase.The displacement criterion is 300mm in the frontier,600ram in the middle and 900ram in the rear of A2 landslide.The rate criterion of rock landslide is 2.1-2.5mm/d.
