Development of urban geological information data center: a case study in Shanghai
With the help of the platform of MapGIS(R),this paper addressed in developing an implemented data center for managing urban geology information, such as borehole, remote sensing (RS) data, geophysical and geochemical data. For the convenience of sharing information and its application in other fields such as 3D geological model, standard forms of borehole were proposed. The structure of logical model and the net structure of the implemented urban geological data center were proposed. With B/S (browse/server) and C/S (client/server) architectures,an implemented management system on the data center was developed.A concrete example of Shanghai city with more than 200,000 boreholes,80(3 byte RS data and other geological data shows that the data center can afford the mission of managing and sharing the urban geology information.
