Urban emergency rescue system prototype for natural hazards based on GIS and RS in mountainous regions
An urban emergency rescue system prototype of natural hazards and its spatial database is developed based on GIS spatial data management and analysis and RS images in this paper.Badong County is selected as the study area.System is constructed with a series of functions which include information inquiry,rescue searching,material delivery,person evacuation and settlement after disasters and further hazard information 3-D visualization through establishing 3-D feature images and building digital 3-D models.For a sudden hazard,it can shorten the respond time,provide scientific supports for instant rescue and minimize the losses of lives and properties.
