Review on situations of migrant and town relocation in the Three Gorges Reservoir area by using DMSP/OLS data

Based on previous studies,this paper makes use of DMSP/OLS nighttime lights data and leads to the trend of changes,which happened to the relocated towns after the reservoir has been used to store water.Simultaneously,we use the Landsat TM/ETM+ remote sensing images and statistical data to verify the validity of the results by using DMSP/OLS nighttime lights data.The experimental results show that adopting the DMSP/OLS nighttime lights data to do research on changes of relocation of towns is in accordance with the actual situation of urban relocation in the Three Gorges reservoir area,and are helpful to the research of urban migration relocation in reservoir areas in China.
