Magnetic susceptibility and paleoclimate, paleoenvironment evolution since Holocene in Poyang Lake area
Paleoclimate and paleoenvironment evolution history have been reconstructced since Holocene in Poyang lake area based on the magnetic susceptibility curve, data of organic carbon stable isotopes of the ZK01 boreholes deposit, profile of the borehole core, and the testing of 14C dating. It is show that Poyang plain has gone through 3 large-scale evolutions of expanding and shrinking and migrating in different climatic environmental evolution processes since Holocene. From 8000aB.P.to 3452aB.P.the sedimentary environment evolved gradually from river facies to prodelta facies. From 3452 to 650aB.P.,sediment of lake facies was dominating, with 3 cycles of lake progression and regression.Poyang lake has risen and dropped intermittently forming delta front sediment since 650aB.P.(B.C.1300a).It is also indicated that the lower values of susceptibility and organic carbon isotopes of lake sediments respond to the warmer and wetter environment, and to the expanding lake scope and the rising lake-level whereas the higher values of the susceptibility and organic carbon isotope respond to the drier and colder environment, and to the smaller and sinking lake.
