Application of comprehensive geophysical prospecting method in detection of rock mass of dam foundation
The evaluation on lithologic quality of rock mass in dam foundation has great impact on engineering design and construction,therefore,a more accurate and effective determination should be selected to evaluate it.The geophysical prospecting technology is a non-damage prospecting method,which has advantages of economy,fast and effective.So it has been applied more and more extensively recently.In First,the principle of GPR (ground penetrating radar) method,seismic method and acoustic wave method has been introduced in this article.Then these three geophysical prospecting methods are applied comprehensively to detect lithologic characters of dam foundation of GouPiTan hydropower station.The comprehensive application of GPR (ground penetrating radar) method,seismic method and acoustic wave method in detection of engineering rock mass has been proved fast and effective through detection result analysis and engineering practice comparison.At the same time the useful references are supplied to engineering design and construction.
