A research on testing of a ground penetrating radar technique to detect the highway pavement

Though the feasibility of the utilization of ground penetrating radar to detect road pavement has already been recognized,the quantitative relationship between working frequency and effective detecting depth is not clear,recognition of radar reflection phase in different structure layers of pavement and other issues are still inconsistent.To solve above those problems,an inspection testing on some embedded metal reflecting plates which are good conductor in different structure layers of highway was designed to do a testing in situ,analyses the test results and summarize the scope of detecting depth correspondent with various working frequency as well.It makes sure that radar reflection phase occurs on a reversed-phase of indicative character in the different materials structure layers.The achievement has a practical guiding significance to utilization of the ground penetrating radar to detect the highway pavement.
