Application of MT in the study of hidden faults in cities
Many geophysical methods have been widely used to detect shallow hidden faults, but because of the depth limitation of each method, there usually exists a blind zone between several hundreds and thousands meters underground, which limits the understanding of connection between the deep-seated structures related to the earthquake movement, and the shallow active faults.Working in the detection of living faults and seismic fatalness estimation in Shanghai,we use new apparatus GMS-06,to carry on the MT prospecting work from Fengcheng (Shanghai City) to Huzhou (Zhejiang Province) near east-west.According to the high-frequency information of high quality and combined with multi-parameters of MT,especially pseudo-tipper,we make clear the geologic structure and the relation between the deep-seated and shallow faults.
