Investigation of active faults in urban area by MASW method
We present here a case study of investigating the active faults in the city of Hangzhou.Comparing results obtained by the MASW method with PS-wave logging results,we discussed efficiency and reliability of applying the MASW method in Hangzhou.Its proved that the MASW method is a powerful tool in investigation of near-surface materials.Especially,in shallow seismic reflection shooting which has been designed a detect depth more than 100 meters,its very useful to get the shallow information dove to a depth of 50 meters by MASW method which can compensate for the lack of shallow information defects of the shallow seismic reflection.
