The separation of P- and S-wave from crosswell seismic data
Multicomponent seismic exploration is one of the most important products in geoscience during the latest decade. In the process of multicomponent seismic data processing, parameter distilling, combined explanation with p- and s-wave,and wavefield separation are all absolutely necessary links. This paper emphasizes on the characteristic of the crosswell wavefield.Firstly, according to the apparent velocity difference between p-wave and s-wave,we can use the τ-p transform to separate upgoing wave from downgoing wave in frequency-space domain.Secondly, using the polarization rotate transform, the p-wave and s-wave are to be separated from both the upgoing wave and downgoing wave respectively. At last,we plus the two p-waves (or s-waves) and regard it as the finally result of s-wave (or p-wave).The tests on two models illuminate that this wavefield separation method processes efficiency of computation and high resolution.
