Hybrid control of smart isolated building under strong ground motion
The seismic mitigation of shear building by adopting hybrid isolation is carded out in this study.The mechanical model of magnetorheological(MR) damper is presented by involving the effects of dampers axial stiffness.The equation of motion of the shear building incorporated with hybrid isolation system disturbed by seismic excitations is established by considering the effects of both base isolator and MR dampers.A clipped-optimal strategy based on fuzzy control principle is proposed for the vibration mitigation based on MR dampers.A shear building is taken as the example to examine the feasibility and reliability of proposed control approach.The observations demonstrate that the hybrid isolation system can substantially suppress seismic responses of shear buildings.
