2.5D Time Domain EM Migration

We improved the 2.5D time domain EM migration for the interpretation of Multi-Transient Electromagnetic (MTEM) land data based on CEMIs time domain EM migration method. MTEM data acquisition consists of a number of laterally moving common shot gathers. Each transmitter just generates a signal for the receivers within this shot gather. In order to account for MTEM data acquisition, we improved the stacking method and the convolution of background electric field and the corresponding migration field. A model weighting matrix is used to improve the vertical resolution. The migration field is calculated by downward extrapolation of the anomalous impulse responses in reverse time. The 2D migration conductivity image is constructed using a convolution. Synthetic tests show that it works well for the interpretation of MTEM land data. The shallower targets are solved particularly well. The vertical resolution of the migration image decreases with depth even when the integrated model weighting matrix has been employed for improvement. However we can enhance the resolution of the migration image somewhat for deeper targets by changing the weighting matrix accordingly.
