An Empirical Analysis on Resource Allocation Capability of Chinas Hi-Tech Industry------Based on DEA-Malmquist Index Approach1

By combining DEA with the Malmquist index this article analyzes the dynamic evaluation of resource allocation efficiency of China Hi-Tech industry from 2002 to 2006. The results shows that the technical efficiency and technological progress are the major factors which have impact on Malmquist index of the resources allocation; The resources allocation efficiency of medicine manufacturing computers and office equipment manufacturing are on a downward trend, primarily due to technical recession; The resources allocation efficiency of aircraft manufacturing, electronic telecommunication equipment manufacturing on a growth trend, the former stems from the technical efficiency enhance, while the latter stems from the technology advancement.
