CALCULATION OF ELASTIC STRESS INCREMENT OF EXTERNAL TENDONS IN SIMPLY SUPPORTED STEEL-CONCRETE COMPOSITE BEAMS
In externally prestressed steel-concrete composite beams, the deflection at the serviceability state is related to the elastic tendon stress increment. The tendon profile and the slip effect at the slab-steel interface have a significant influence on the elastic incremental tendon stress. In this paper, on the basis of the strain energy principle, a formula for calculating the elastic tendon stress increment of simply supported composite beams with a draped tendon profile is derived by considering the slip at the stab-steel interface and the compatibility of the tendons and the composite beam at the anchorage points. The calculated and measured values are in close agreement.
