Operational Definition of Value Concept and Quantitative Measurement of Value
Value Theory is generally called practical theory in both ancient and modern time. It is a good design whereby people change alterable and particular things through effective action and make them beneficial. Only by means of operational definition of value concept, can this good design transform abstract scientific concept system into measurable and verifiable index system that can measure the regulation of quality and quantity of things, and put them into concrete practice. The difficult point of value research lies in the measurement and calculation of value quantity. Therefore, we may start from the following aspects to measure value quantity: firstly, value precondition (supply and demand, functional relation, necessity and possibility); secondly, value basis (activity manner, utility mode, communication mode, reformation mode, and creation mode); thirdly, value structure (rareness or superabundance of different values); fourthly, the creative process of value (the ratio of input and output). Meanwhile, the development trend of value system can be forecast according to necessity and possibility. There are two precise measuring methods: one is to make use of value sequence measurement table according to value property (expressive by + and -) and energy (weight); the other is to make use of Braid Burn Test Table from the perspective of satisfaction degree and efficiency evaluation.
