Harbor Logistics and Regional Economy
This paper analyzes the relationship between harbor logistics and regional economic growth by the application of their relevant theories. Then as an example to the five deputy provincial cities which are the similar level of Chinas coastal economic development, this paper collected the data of the last 10 years, and made a quantitative analysis of the relationship between harbor cargo throughput and GDP, and further explained the relationship between harbor logistics and regional economic growth. This paper concluded that harbor logistics affects the growth of regional economic growth mechanism. With analysis of the relationship between harbor logistics and economic growth, it was recognized that the formation and development of harbor logistics to a great extent promoted the effective gathering of the regional economic elements, helped the port city centre at the core of the formation and development of regional economy, strengthened the city and the overall planning of the economic region, promoted the rational distribution of regional economic structure and coordinated development, and shaped the cross-border trans-regional large circulation pattern.
